Aphrodite is one of our top mares. She is a State Premium mare who scored an outstanding 8.35 on her Mare Performance Test. She qualified for and participated at the Bundeschampionships (German National Championships for Young Horses) as a 3 and 4 year old. She is kind and quiet and very easy to ride, even by small children. Her movements are full of tact and suspension and she has an unbelievable walk. Aphrodite was bred and owned by the Breeding Director of the Hanoverian Pony Verband. He is well-respected for the very high quality ponies he has bred.

Lineage

Sire: Botticelli

Botticelli, is a son of the legendary Brillant. Botticelli is now in Sweden and has been successfully competing at FEI and M-Level of dressage for several years with 16 year old Matilda Aslund. This pair has been very successful, winning many Championships together. Botticelli has sired two approved stallions and several State Premium mares.

Botticelli’s sire, the legendary Brillant, has made an undeniable impression on German Riding Pony breeding. He was Champion of the Weser-Ems Stallion Approvals in Vechta. Then he went on to become Champion of the Stallion Performance Test. His own performance career culminated at the FEI level of dressage in which he won many classes, often against the big horses. He became the Champion Stallion at the Stallion Shows of Hanover in 1984 and of Weser-Ems in 1988.

His breeding record is phenomenal. He has sired 36 approved stallions and 23 State Premium mares. Brillant has been one of the top 3 stallions according to the FN breeding value rating since 1995. He has led the FN statistics for procreators of dressage ponies since 1998. Although the emphasis of his hereditary transmission lies in dressage, his progeny are found successfully competing in all the sport disciplines. He sired the Bundeschampions, Bolero, Benjamin A, Mac Baroness, and the Champion Mare of the DLG Show (a very prestigious German show), Giana. Giana is also an extraordinarily successful broodmare and the foundation mare of a very successful dam-line. Perhaps her most successful daughter is St.Pr.St. Gina, dam of 5 approved stallions and 2 State Premium mares. Brillant has an unusually high percentage of offspring competing at the FEI level of dressage. But, he has also presented several top show-jumpers and driving ponies. His offspring have been selected for numerous Elite Auctions, changing owners for very high prices.

Dam: Verb.St.Pr. Atlanta S

Her dam, Verbandspremium mare, Atlanta S, scored 7.95 for her Mare Performance Test and was used for entry level shows before becoming a broodmare. The dam’s sire, Diplomat is by Domingo B. Domingo B was also a successful sports and breeding stallion. He sired 14 approved stallions and the same number of state premium mares. Diplomat’s dam, Suleika, is the dam of 5 approved stallions and 7 of her 8 daughters were awarded State Premium.

Granddam Atlantis S won many dressage and jumping classes at A- and L-level, often enough against warmbloods. She participated at the Bundeschampionat four times! As a 3 year old she was fourth place; she was the Champion as a 4 year old; as a 5 year old she placed 4th and as a 6 year old she placed 6th in the finals of the jumping ponies.

Will be bred to FS Cracker Jack for 2009 foal

Aphrodite S has had one Premium foal in Germany.

Aphrodite is currently in Germany until the spring of 2008 when she will be bred to FS Cracker Jack for a 2009 foal.

FS Cracker Jack is a young stallion son of the very successful dressage sire, FS Champion de Luxe.

The dam of this young stallion, FS Do It, is sired by Dornik B and out of the dam, FS Golden Sunlight who is also the dam of FS Don’t Worry.

This sire combines the blood of three exceptional ponies into one and we are very excited about this combination with the blood of Brillant and Diplomat.
