Highlight: Supreme Champion of the West Midland Stallion Show, Wales Royal Welsh Show – 5th out of 19
Details:
Our beautiful imported Welsh mare proved her worth when she was crowned the Supreme Champion at the West Midland Stallion Show in Wales. She also received a fifth place finish at the Royal Welsh show in a very strong class of 19. She has wonderful conformation with a deep body, length of rein, a beautiful topline and an absolutely exquisite head. She is simply breathtaking. This mare is exquisitely bred. Her pedigree is loaded with champions such as Downland Chevalier, Keston Royal Occasion, Criban Victor, Gorsty Firefly and Eyarth Celebration. And last but definitely not least the two stallions, Eyarth Rio and Telynau Royal Charter. |
Sire: International Supreme Champion *Telynau Royal Charter
*TELYNAU ROYAL CHARTER is by the illustrious sire Eyarth Rio, leading sire of Sec B's 1997-1999 in the UK. He has been in the top three of the sire ratings for the last decade and was first place again in 2002. Charter is out of Geufronuchaf Miss Royal, herself a Royal Welsh winner as a foal.
Royal Charter began his life in Wales with breeders David Jones and Geraint Thomas of the Telynau Stud. He was shown at the West Midlands Stallion Show where he won his class over 23 other colts. Charter continued his winning streak as a yearling being Reserve Champion to his father at the famous Glanusk Show. The first time during the history of the show that father and son had been Senior and Junior Champion and then gone on to be Champion and Reserve Sec B! Later that year he won at the Royal Welsh show, a feat he accomplished again as a three year old. Throughout Charter's show career in the UK he won twenty-seven Championships. He was champion at the Royal of England twice and is the only father and son combination of Section B's ever to BOTH qualify for the Horse of the Year Show at Wembley.
Charter was purchased in 1999 for export to the United States by Tammy Burgin of Farmore Farms. Charter immediately began winning. The first year in the United States he was the WPCSA 2000 National High Score Sec B Stallion and he also received the Princess Diana Memorial Cup for the highest scoring imported Welsh Pony or Cob. In 2001, after breeding 27 mares, Charter was again the highest scoring Section B Stallion and again winner of the Princess Diana Cup. He has been the Pacific Coast Champion in halter, English, Western, hunter and trail. While in the United States, Charter has garnered Supreme Championships in Washington, California, Oklahoma and most recently, Texas. By the end of 2001, just two years since his importation, he has acquired enough points to receive his WPCSA Individual Legion of Merit. Charter is also the very first imported Section B to receive the WPCSA Individual Legion of Merit. |
Just three years later in 2004, he received his Award of Excellence with over 4000 points and was also awarded the American National Supreme Championship. In following the typical Royal Charter performance, he was division Champion in both Hunters and English Pleasure. In 2004, no other stallion of any section had achieved the honor of an Individual Award of Excellence. With only 6 foal crops on the ground in the United States, Charter received his Sire Legion of Merit. He also produced the top Half-Welsh pony in the U.S., thus granting him the title, Sire Legion of Honor. No other stallion in WPCSA history to date has accomplished this feat, and never in just a few foal crops.

Her dam, Telynau China Doll, was imported from Wales and is also a daughter of Eyarth Rio. She is a proven broodmare of exceptional quality having produced many champion offspring, including the 2003 U.S. National Champion Section B filly. She is also the dam of the Section B Stallion, Supreme Champion Falling Moon National Anthem.
